Signifying a new generation of beds for the manufacture, Silentnight bed is set to launch a brand new pocket spring model in to the bed market next year. The ground breaking new bed is called PocketZing and according to Silentnight, it is manufactured using a completely unique, advanced pocket spring technology.

Unlike traditional pocket springs, which are linked together in a long chain with fabric pockets, the new PocketZing springs are completely independent from their neighbours, enabling truly personalized body contouring and eliminating any areas of pressure that might cause tossing and turning or aches and pains two of the main causes of sleep disturbance.
Not only are the beds developed using the benefit of Silentnight bed’s sleep research, conducted across the world in university sleep laboratories such as Brussels and Leeds, the PocketZing is also produced using exclusive technology that is only found at the Silentnight Brands site at Batley.
The new machinery zones the springs to support the different areas of the body in different ways. Firm springs are placed under the head and neck to provide extra support and a group of softer spring provides gentler support for the shoulders so they can sink comfortably into the mattress. More firm springs support the upper back and waist and the medium-firm spring take care of the lower back and hips.
The result is that the spine stays level all night trough, supported in its natural position so that it can recover from the rigors of the day.
In addition to this being both a new move and new generation of beds for the manufacture, Silentnight states that it is also pioneering a brand new look for divan beds in the market.
The feet of the bed are placed further towards the middle of the divan, which Silentnight believes helps create a ‘floating‘ feel, which will be aesthetically pleasing to the customer.
The mew PocketZIng beds also feature a specially designed Breathable, Airflow Border, allowing air to pass through the mattress, keeping the bed cool to help maintain a comfortable body temperature. The prevention of overheating is key to helping the customer reap the benefits of a deep and healthy sleep.
Amanda Jones, marketing director of Silentnight, said : “The new PocketZing range is revolution technology . Gone are the days when you have to compromise comfort for health and well-benefits.”
However, as well as aiming to provide a long healthy sleep, a huge selling point of the PocketZing mattress, will be the fact that they are filled with pro-biotic microcapsules aka Friendly bacteria. The new pro-biotic treatment, called Purotex, works on the same principle as the pro-biotic yogurt drinks.
As the customers sleep, their body pressure activates the friendly bacteria, which quickly multiply to outnumber and replace any harmful bacteria in the bed. The friendly bacteria reduce mould and moisture, keeping dust-mites at bay and reducing allergens for a drier, fresher, healthier bed.
In addition to keeping the bed fresh, Purotex is 100% natural compared to traditional antibacterial treatments that rely on chemicals.
Jones added: “The combination of our advanced pocket spring technology – exclusive to Silentnight – with the added benefit of Purotex technology means these beds offer total comfort, unrivalled back support and consumers can wake up with a “fresh bed” feeling every day”
Created in line with the current trends in bedroom furniture – each divan is created in tactile fabrics and in a natural palette. The range features three new beds (Classic, Indulgent and Superior), each offering a slightly different level of comfort. Each mattress is combined with a stylish shallow divan base upholstered in one of a choice of three fabrics (cream woven twill, nutmeg luxury soft touch fiber or soft patterned faux leather)
The beds are being launched with retailer throughout the UK on a staggered basis, and by early next year they will be widely available, starting at prices from £949.
Jones concluded: “These beds are being rolled out with retailers across the UK and we are aiming to provide full UK release on the product early next year.”
